Tony Hawk Ride ready to rock indoor tricks in the US (video)
After that false alarm about an October release date, the Tony Hawk: Ride bandwagon was all set for departure on November 17 and that's exactly what's happened. Available for a cent under $120, the new game / peripheral combo will allow players to shimmy, gesture, and ollie their way to (simulated) skateboarding immortality on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. The earliest European availability we can see is offered by Amazon UK, which indicates a December 4 launch for the Queen's isles and a discounted £89 ($149) price. You can check out our own feets-on with that wireless controller right here or, if you so wish, peruse the full PR at the read link. What's not optional, however, is missing the bonus "making of" video for that most radical of peripherals, which we've lovingly prepared for you just after the break.

lol @ the video
Cant wait to see someone "Kick Flip" this thing through their TV.
morbid imagination.
So why do you have a picture of the Playstation wireless controller and the video of the xbox?
so why does it matter?
Because Texan is a Fanboy and hates to see anything mixed up.
For some reason I think I'll like this controller better for an SSX type snowboard game.
JESUS, the video is very high on the "creepy" scale! :D
I've been wondering how they accomplish flip tricks on this thing.
Anybody?
u tilt the board nose up, then roll it either side for kick or heelflip.
idk how you can accomplish hardflips or even simply 3-flips but it looks like a good controller system, itll probly end up being not so great.
That video is an exact copy of the video made by Rossignol to promote the Scratch skis. That one was a wedding and mating between skis and a snowboard.
And they Failed too...
Seriously now, am I the only one who thinks the idea of a skateboard controller is incredibly lame?
Go outside and skate in the sun.
/facepalm
How old can this argument get exactly?
Hey how did You Steal My RAWR pic Mikey? I created that myself and didn't give you permission to use it. Lawsuit!
Also skate in what Sun, fuckin winter out dude or do YOU not go outside at all.
I want $10000 for the use of MY ORIGINAL CREATION that you are using for your display Pic. How about them apples. DUDE!
And get raped by a pedo? welcome to paranoid world where the tech keeps you indoors and safer!
im with you Mikey!
@Mattwood: Because using this would actually mess up my skateboarding (even more so :P)
you dont get raped by a pedo out in the sun, come on thats pedo101.
Thought I would see someone "riding" that...oh well...
that's what she said.
I purchased TH Ride yesterday (Limited Edition Graphic Model) and being I skateboarded for many years I thought I'd give it a try.
It's really not the greatest game... To me it kinda felt like playing the Wii version of SkateIT, just no solid WiiFit board feeling and actually standing on a plastic skateboard. You can pull off some cool moves and you pop the tail, turn for 180's and so on... but for the amount you pay for the game, think twice.
I say get out and go buy an actual complete setup skateboard for a $100 more! (Depends on setup) It feels way better to pull off the real moves and learn instead.
A little more practice and who knows, maybe TH Ride might turn out to be better then I said.
My opinion of TH Ride for PS3.
totally agree, and how do you hardflip on this? or any other varial please let me know :P
Skate 2 has a much better control system, and ill go with buying a real board over this, it gives a sense of accomplishment and its nb. Did you find TH Ride messed with your skatin?
Yeah, sounds great unless your 40 and don't feel like breaking bones anymore. Now, where is my Wii walker...
I think this is a nice game because it has very many new features. But it's not for hardcore gamer...
It would be nice when you take a look at our website about this game: http://english.tonyhawk-ride.com/
Great Video. I think the peripheral is a gimmick and stupid (obviously in my expert opinion, having never played the game), but the video was great.
Just me who's really pissed that it's a full $30 more for people in the UK?
Not that I'd be buying it, but what gives them the right to charge us more?
man, i just can't get over how silly it is to use a skateboard-shaped controller to play a skateboard videogame, when you could just go outside and ride your skateboard.
this is going to be a hit, especially during the winter months when people cannot skate outside
if legend holds true to the skating video game genre, this will sell enough to make manufacturing it worth it
would i use it, maybe try it
will i like it, maybe after i try it
do i live in socal and can skate year round? fucking aye
Does this skateboard simulate the moronic looks people give those idiots who try to mimic the tricks on the sidewalks of outside shopping malls and failing miserably? If so, then THAT'S realism.
Also, my sentence structure fails. And probably my spelling.
Busted ankles, here we come!
