I wish the main page was like this. When you click into a story you get the ad at the top, followed by the engadget logo / bar / navigation. . .and then the story. Maybe you could add the option of the person logged in making the main page like this and allowing the option of cutting out the clutter at the top?

thenextbigthing1

Comments on Nintendo DSi LL set loose in Japan

i hope nintendo goes broke i bought my dsi no more than 6 months ago and now they have this i want a bigger screen but im not wasting more money...

DrewDNinja

Comments on Nintendo DSi LL set loose in Japan

This is targeted at older people who have trouble seeing stuff clearly on smaller screens. Sometimes the best comments are the replies. Also, could you think about bringing back the entirely blue "Highest ranked" comments? The little blue bar just isn't the same. One more thing, with the old comment system, when I up or down-ranked someone, I could just click + or - and keep reading down the page. Now everytime I do that it returns to the top of the page and I have to scroll down and find my place again. Sorry for my little rant but these few things would make commenting more enjoyable in my opinion.

orangecat

Comments on Nintendo DSi LL set loose in Japan

There are so many things that don't work here. Just to name a few:
- Italics are overused, abused and distracting
- The obtrusive blue background of the "Reply" button; would have worked for one but is unbearably lurid when repeated ad infinitum
- Having to click to see replies is damn annoying, to say the least
- There is still no way to edit a post
- Some letters are even truncated at their bottom

And that's just for comments. All in all, the major problem with the site is that it has too many different fonts; whoever designed this hasn't got a clue about how to effectively use them. I've disabled many of the boxes and are close to a decent looking site - which ironically resembles the previous version a lot.

giuliop

Comments on Nintendo DSi LL set loose in Japan

@orangecat
What browser are you using?
