We suspect this will be the final round of Black Friday ad leaks -- you know, considering that Black Friday is but a few days away -- but it seems as if the gadget world has saved the best (or at least the biggest) for last. As usual, we're not spotting any major steals that'd be worth lining up a dozen hours in advance for, but the $78 Blu-ray player and $10 BD films from Wally World may be worth paying your neighbor to snag for you. Check 'em all out below... if you dare.
lol I love that people are calling it Engadget Vista. Its supposedly lighter though. But when you add all those scripts, kind of cancels that out, doesn't it.
whateva smartie pants that decided to put roman italic text on a gadget blog, should not be working on websites. ima about to make a case study out of this site- eeeewww
Depends what you mean by 'good.' They work well as far as I know, and will likely last longer than your soul. Thing is, you seldom need cables to last more than a few years before something better comes out and you upgrade anyways. In other words, for four times the money, you get the same experience. So no, don't buy. Don't buy Bluth.
There is absolutely no redeeming value to use cables other than the bargan basement to transmit a digital signal like HDMI. There is no loss. at all. zero. Analog sometimes you need slightly better, but nowhere near the price tag that Monster puts on its crap.
Now, gold plating is good if your TV set is in a chemical lab... And even then bargan cables + silicone spray costs less and you get a whole can of silicone for nefarious purposes (I recommend spraying the power supply as well, they rust out quickly... the motherboard is already coated so no worries there)
The ONLY benefit is that they have a lifetime warranty. So if you are a musician then sure buy them, but if they are sitting lonely behind your tv then monoprice it is.
I was hoping Newegg would have the TC-P42G10 for $759 like they did last month (started shopping for it too late) but the black friday deal on the same Panasonic is about $100 more than it was just a month ago!
I've been checking out the P50G10 & P54G10 hoping to see some sweet deals, but so far the prices are significantly higher than I've seen the past couple of months. Take a look at the long term pricing page on camelcamelcamel to see what I mean.
Amazon is throwing in a TivoHD and $100 credit for Video on Demand. I'm thinking of dumping cable TV service, so the Tivo isn't as appealing to me as it once was. It they bundled it with a Harmony 900 remote or something else I could use, I'd consider it. But as it is now, the price needs to at least drop to where is was a couple of months ago.
I guess Amazon isn't too concerned though since they're now out of stock on the P54G10.
I already made my big Black Friday purchase ($600 for a 40" Sony Bravia TV from Best Buy) yesterday with a surprising lack of hassle, so I'll be sleeping in on Friday.
You should check Best Buy again. I bought a 46" Sony Bravia S-Series for $700 this past weekend. It was priced at $749 (pre-Black Friday sale) but with very minimal haggling they dropped almost $50. I too will be sleeping in this Black Friday.
Lucky for me the only thing I care about getting (8GB SDHC or CF cards), are things that no one really cares about, and will still be in stock at about 50 different places, for cheap, at 10 AM.
"yes we will dare", whenever a black friday arrives I kind of remember the tv-series chuck lol. wherein all the nerd-herds are there waiting the people to come as if its like war. The only time wherein you can see bravia tv-sets go as far as 60% off.
I think $10 BD/film is already a sweet offer. how bout xbox 360 for 299 USD with 3 games of your selection.. perhaps Motorola Droid for 99 dollars :D
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.

At least Vista was a decent OS. The Engadget comment system on the other hand...
How did you get 8gb of ram in a macbook? That would cost as much as the ridiculous price of it to start with.
I thought Macs don't crash?
Funny how the 16' Monster Cable is still overpriced at half off... [New Egg].

Since Newegg is online only, it's more like a preemptive Cyber Monday.
check... what all out below?
You have to click the "source" links. Not the usual way Engadget does it, so I can see why it's confusing.
There is no source link on this article.
Gah, I couldn't find them either. Engadget, you really need to make the links a bit more obvious.
Are monster cables actually good aside from their misleading displays and their large price tags
no.

That should answer your question.
In Monster's defense, it was a really, really high quality coat hanger.
The ONLY benefit is that they have a lifetime warranty. So if you are a musician then sure buy them, but if they are sitting lonely behind your tv then monoprice it is.
Ahem, "Newegg"
Still haven't heard anything from amazon. Anyone know if they're doing those deals this year where you vote for some amazing deal in each category?
All I want for Christmas is some SNES...oh and that girl.
Here's a list from Amazon's week-long DVD/Blu-Ray sale: http://www.cheapcollegegamers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4688
*scrolling, scrolling, something about monster cables, blah blah, HOLY SHIT! THATS HOT

I hate to correct you Darren but Black Friday is but one hot minute away.
It's been a hot minute since we've heard someone say "hot minute."
Its going to be a sad black friday, Not one place has something decent/cheap enough for the trip
Taking $20 off a $200 item doesnt make it worth waking up early and standing in lines over
agreed....better to wait for the after black friday sale
what are we checking out?
ah found it the source links...

I secretly licked all of them. Do not buy!!!
oh noes! you dastardly fiend! I shall bring cans of disinfectant to battle your germs!
Can you please point me in the direction of the SD/CF deals? I could use another 8GB card, thanks.
hit up office max as far as i know.
$35 for Madden 10 at Best Buy and a Snuggie for $5 at Office Max... Those are 2 deals that I want to get.
Too bad that snuggie ad may be fake - http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1684933
That, and they're ridiculous. But you knew that part already.

"and suddenly all became just a piece of candy"
Guess who's jumping on the Walmart PS3 deal!
I'm probably buying the PS3&46" Bravia bundle for 999.99 at sonystyles that the best deal I seem so far.
Does 10% Cash Back @ NewEgg mean 10% off or what?
im scrolling down for the same answers!
Probably "Bing" Cashback. Funny story, I bought some shoes with $30 Bing Cashback, returned them and still got the $30. LOL.
Really? Those "deals" are warm at best. *sigh
Still looking for a smokin' PS3 deal - other than the BB bundle with two games.
