After so much speculation and rumor, it's hard to believe that
Dell's first modern cellphone is ready to launch. And while we've already seen the official press release announcing the
Mini 3 for Brazil and China, today we get a followup release with a bit more detail. As expected, the Chinese Mini 3i variant is quadband GSM/EDGE only (no 3G) and packs a 3.5-inch nHD, 640x360 touchscreen display just like that found on Nokia's N97. The 58.35 x 122 x 11.7-mm
OPhone will ship in "Red Passion" and "Oiled Bronze" colors packing Bluetooth, a 3 megapixel auto-focus camera with flash and video capture mode, microSD slot, and GPS with pre-loaded maps. And in case you're wondering
why China first, that's easy: Dell's going after China Mobile's 500 million subscriber base when its first handset hits authorized stores later this week.
i thought the axim was dells first 'cellphone'..
"modern"
Do want!
Why? There are far, far better devices that actually offer 3G.
hm this seems like a decent android phone. i wonder how much it would cost.
im currently with AT&T anyone have any suggestions as to what decent gsm android phones i should pay attention to?
The only problem with DELL phone is - they just have no taste.
I concur...
I would advise against eating it, then.
Indeed, you speak the truth.
Now that is a sexy phone.
Sexy as in thin as a supermodel and with the brains of one?
seems odd to have a smartphone with no 3G.
Well considering the iPhone 3G went to China w/o the 3G... so maybe a carrier problem or market scheme?
Actually, the iPhone "went" to China without wifi. Lack of 3G in (late 2009) is like driving a horse-drawn cart to work.
Has Engadget posted the links to the Office 2010 beta download yet? I sent that in as a tip like 2 weeks ago.. well if not now you all know. Check it out! I mean even Sllickdeals had it on their front page last week when I posted on it.

Also Chrome 4.0 is in public beta now but I'm sure you all know that. It is the bee's knees. Sure puts Chrome 3 and Firefox 3.5/3.6 and Safari to shame. But if you want to be secure IE8 and Safari are still the way to go, just IE8 is slow as fuck in comparison. Just use Security Essentials and you'll be fine man, it'll be fine man, everythings fine. It's al fine.
Have you noticed the giant search button yet?
Have you realized that nobody is interested in your spam?
don't want.. but doesn't this have resemblance with the Palm Pre?
No...with the Palm Pixi.
The form-factor .. really quite nice ..
The UI ?? like someone thew up over Android and warmed it up again ..
oh yeah do they have copy paste ?
Please! That is some rebranded Samsung shit. Who the hell is Dell kidding. Dell didn't do research that lead to a freaking cell phone.
Samsung os too good for Dell - that would be a step up.
ohh I'm gonna have to head in to China Mobile next week and check this out.
what are the odds that it's loaded with more bloatware than my current NOKIA is?
That's a good looking phone.
Axim was never a cell phone, just a wi-fi device based on an early edition of WinMobile.
this thing is selling at 4000 yuan, about 579 USD. I don't see any reason to have it while it doesn't even supports 3G.
Dell has released its own experimental version of Google's newly unveiled Chrome operating system, so users can download it and use it on their own netbooks. The Dell Mini 10v Netbook is one of the least expensive netbooks available, and other companies do have comparable models and prices, so do your homework and find the right one.
