Adamo XPS hands-on impressions
You might've seen the Adamo XPS cameo on this month's Engadget Show, or viewed our unboxing, but in case you're averse to the long form, really want to dive deep, or perhaps just use some other trite phrase to describe yourself, we've done an in-depth video hands-on with the world's slimmest laptop. The verdict? Well, it's a well-made machine with a significant issue of a price to performance imbalance. Check out the video after the break to see if all this sexiness can win you over.

Just looking at that photo makes my wrists ache.
@Akhen
Serious. That looks to be the least ergonomic laptop ever.
@Akhen
I dunno about you, but my wallet would probably be hurting to if I owned that.
Super thin laptops are such a stupid concept.
@Akhen Tell me about it. I can't imagine having my wrists bent like that continuously.
@Tiptup300 I don't think thin thin laptop is a stupid idea just that no-one has managed to create one thats got a spec/price balance.
Poor move here dell, get rid of the awkward hinge and latch aswell as a bit of internal tweaks and in a few years you may have a decent product.
Awesome...
but ultimately very silly...
@ciancrobbo I think there is nothing wrong with the thickness of the Aluminum MacBook line. Perfect thickness I say. IMHO.
@Akhen
I'm going to feel sorry when this chap gets Arthritis from loving this laptop.
@Akhen This is not even a laptop. Remember the word "lap"!?
Nice! i want it!
@jorgetesla
Pretty sure this isn't a give-away..
@jorgetesla Go to the Dell website. :)
I need it NOW!
The video isn't working on my laptop :(
@errorrat Maybe you should get an adamo xps.
@errorrat or maybe your laptop is a mac. HAHA

That's when I click on the video link. Is it just not done uploading yet, or is it accidentally private?
Video is down mates :-(
make this un-private, engadget!
Looking forward to getting one for 20% off...
@Breex243 Bing, baby, Bing!
here's a new Idea for Dell chop off the screen and make one of those Asus eepc keyboard before Asus does
the video is not available
Can this be for the Black Friday giveaway?
@MJGAMER 1991 XBL
I second this.
Guys, on this day after Thanksgiving I hope you
Remember The Adamo
That's a painful review. Come on guys, I expect more from you. Go see how cnet does a video review and try to imitate that.
Maybe because it isn't a review?
Two hours battery life ... seriously!?
He had to swipe twice to open it ... and I saw it lift off the table as it was opening. That face login looked incredibly inconvenient. This whole thing reeks gimmick.
I want that metal keyboard, though.
@Uncontrol
Did it being 10mm thick? What did you expect for battery life?
@fel macbook air gets 5 and its not far behind in thickness and is faster.
@(Unverified)
Doesn't Apple have some new *patented* way of designing batteries so they last longer?
leave the laptop in that position and let a bus run over it to see if it'll survive the test.
How about we put this in the giveaway as well as that Nikon D3S?
I can't get over how it stands. It just doesn't look sturdy.
Its nice and all, but I would definitely not pay that price tag.
It's nice, but it just seems impractical. Yeah, it's got some interesting design concepts (memory metal, I think Paul called it?), but that folding mechanism...ugh. It just seems like more of a hassle then it's worth.
Price/performance imbalance? You guys must hate the MacBook Pro then.
wii wii
Second Gen of this Form-factor u think ?
Nice!!!! I'm getting one.
Mr. Blurry-cam operating the camera today! :p
The whole thing looks like you'd have to comprimise so much with it, I just can't see myself buying such an expensice product that has such risks. Dell's trying, but I just don't think it's quite there yet. As somebody said above, 2nd gen might be more interesting, but we'll see.
How does this thing not fall over?! I mean, look at it, it's asking for a sneeze, and ZOOM there it goes.
Unbelievable this guy is. He put it on his lap? I understand alot of people think that's what you're supposed to do, but officially, no you're not supposed to have ANY notebook these days on your lap.
They're all supposed to be on a desk. Most notebooks the reason is because they can burn up your lap or cause your lap to burn the laptop. Also, he was worried about what happens when it's out of battery life, helloooo why would you want to open it anyways if the battery is dead??
@res13echo
I really hope this is sarcasm...?
I want one
Seriously, how would you use it on your lap? Is it meant to be used on flat surface like desk?
@goopy try watching the video
ONLY thing I like is the keyboard. the rest needs to be tossed out. I agree with the gimmicky comment.
This was pretty annoying to watch. I feel like Paul just woke up and forgot to rub the sleep out of his eyes because every other word was "um" or "ah". It took him some time to figure out what he was trying to say. Figure it out man..
@SnApple
I thought he must be jetlagged AND have a cold.
This video is quite damaging to Engadget's image in my opinion.
