I agree. I'm not quite sure about that statement. It look like just another 2010 american car. This wasn't the first time I've seen pre-production cars on the highways, either. Several years ago I saw a row of the new (at the time) Mustangs running down US-40 outside Winter Park CO with an F-150 chase vehicle (and again, black cloth and a telemetry device).

It's still a hybrid vehicle. The gas engine may not power the drive train, but there is one in it which qualifies it as a hybrid vehicle. Also, the gas engine recharging the batteries makes the car even worse. Instead of power loss over one conversion (chemical to mechanical) you have power loss of 5 conversions (chemical to mechanical to electrical to chemical to electrical to mechanical).
