This is what i call a dancing robot.
Uncanny Valley for sure. Not at all pleasant to watch.
It felt like some horror movie where a quadriplegic is forced to dance.
Makes me wonder how it was received by the Japanese audience?
what better way to show dynamic movement than through dance? it's really impressive how far robotics has come considering that not too long ago engineers were having trouble just keeping the robots to stand balanced and upright while walking.
Why did they teach her to dance like the British?? First mistake.
Wow i think this is great, i can see the future that most people can only dream of in the present day is slowly being reached.
@GN7S Lol the future being actul robots. I thought what most people read into this post was that robots being able to dance allows that community to grow and make robots that can move in a wide varity of ways.

I think this is great, one step closer to having robot companions to aid/assist you doing whatever, or even saving your life, perhaps destroying it too?

I don't wanna watch. All I know is when these things get realistic enough, Japanese men will be buying them in droves to 'do the wild' thing, even when there are about 100 million capable hotties in Japan.

look at those crazy japs. i figured in a another half of dozen updates, the jap anime 'Chobits' will come alive to a nightmare near you. Replaces your PC, and your girlfriend, strangles you while you're asleep

I do‘t want to understand.
What we feel shame is, most of those Robot enthusiasts are not
necessary an engineer of such as Honda but rather ordinary
folk on the street. Still, as they can get most advanced "reliable"
(made in Japan)components, servo motors etc at Akihabara,
and with famous dedication to be an Otaku they can make the
Robot dance------on the end. (if not try again and again)
The mentality and the environment are totally different there.
Ok, it was bad but not as bad as the Star Wars Holiday Special. :D
