Keepin' it real fake, part CCXLV: the Nokia iPhone
Alright, so iPhone and N97 knock-offs probably aren't the rarest of gems around these days, but how many handsets do you know that can lay claim to being both? The Cooli902 takes the iPhone's 3.5-inch touchscreen, spit-shines a pretty realistic iPhone OS clone-job, and then adds the Nokia flavor with a fully fledged QWERTY keypad ripped straight from the heart of the N97. Not only does it open to that familiar angle, it also sports the same layout and what we can only imagine to be the same violent opening mechanism as found on the original Nokia handset. And to think that poor Philippe Starck had to pick between these two phones, when for only $143 we could have had both. More pics after the break, or hit the read link to get your own.

Nice :)
@(Unverified) Yeah, this is the Phone everyone has been waiting for.
lol , it looks more usable than real iPhone
@Satz you mean the most usable smartphone on the market with the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the industry? oh this must be more usable.
@(Unverified) As long as you do not need to multitask, sure, it's usable.
@Satz Right.....go back to the DroidFanboy site that you crawled from, troll. The iPhone is one of the best phones ever invented. Go play in traffic, dumbass.

U MAD
Sounds like someone in this thread is irate
@(Unverified)
Spare me the semantics, fanboy. The iPhone is just a highly-popular, low-end smartphone, just one step up from a dumphone with a touchscreen (and that's arguable).
"WIFI helps you get on wireless internet access, no problem of down loading games or softwares anymore."
I wonder what softwares are available.
@Jamesy java apps n games
It has a retractable antenna for TV reception and self defense, what's not to like?
seems like it has more versions that the original two.
This is the iPhone, perfected.
I especially like that one
"Though it has not a very attracting looking, while its functions really surprise me."
That looks quite appealing.
Is it just me that thinks the KIRF look soooo much better than the pukka articles?
@avis what kind of an advertiser are you?
I think I prefer this one: http://2008.eemobi.cn/Products//7718/ZTC9928%20.html
It has 'coloful lights', I mean, really, what can iPhone fight that with? Plus the price is very moderate.
@Vizzy What the hell is that?!
Kirfs piss me off
Steve Jobs will never agree, but I'd buy a N97ifed iPhone XD
is it sad that i want that more than my iphone? (only because of the keyboard)
I would buy this. Not THIS cheapass knockoff, specifically, but a hybrid iPhone/N97, oh hell yes, absolutely, totally, in a red hot second.
You know, if that was running android, I'd buy it.
@(Unverified)
Me too. Put the dpad and Android buttons (call, home, menu, back, hangup/power) where the "home button" is, put Android on it, and I'd be all over that. Even better if they scale it up to 4.1" screen with 800x480, and a 5 row keyboard. Even if it's just quadband GSM + Wifi (no 3G), I'd still be interested.
If it has a microSDHC card slot and a removable battery, combined with the keyboard, it's already miles ahead of the iPhone.
@(Unverified)
That would be the worlds greatest phone....
Thats what the title of it would be.
If I was Jonathan Ive, I'd go, "Hmm..."
KIRF = Better than a GILF, but not as good as a MILF. :D
Someone told me that these companies even take orders for manufacturing custom devices. The way they deal is, "Name the quantity and the price, and we'll make it for u."... The larger the quality, the lower the price and the quality.. :D
Too bad you can't load Mobile OSX on one of these. If only that were possible...
There's no such thing as "Mobile OSX."
Perhaps you're thinking of "iPhone OS" which is a completely different operating system than Mac OSX, despite fanboys' joyous claims that "iPhones run Mac OSX!"
@Elranzer
I've heard "iPhone OS" referred to as "Mobile OSX" before, but what I meant was, it would be nice if you could run iPhone OS on a Kirf for app purposes. I am more of an Great Device fanboy than anything else, I understand the difference Between desktop OS's and mobile one's.
just in case you were wondering what Nokia execs dream about every night...
NiPhone
"It's alive!" - Chinese guy that thought this phone would rock!
I would be very tempted to buy this if it was running Android and Verizon network compatible.
Best KIRF iPhone eva!
You know, I really love these KIRF knock-offs... but I wish they'd take them just a touch further.
I got to play with one of these iPhone knockoffs a little while back, and my immediate first impression? The screen resolution is shit. Just like this one.
If these guys started putting higher rez screens in these, and polished up the UI a touch, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Hey Chinese knockoff companies: if you're reading this, and want to really make some improvements: get in touch. I work for really cheap! :P
how does it open straight out and on an angle?
love it.....want one
only $149 with no stinkin contact.
iPhone 3,1
Does it have any sort of REAL OS?
As my good buddy (Unverified) said "You know, if that was running android, I'd buy it."
At $143, I would too.
@(Unverified) me! not an advertiser, I just wanted to say there is no need for Engadget to popularize the fakes by blogging it
@DarkElfa yeah. and i will be first in the line to get one of these.
Apple should really digg this, get some ideas.
Maybe get smart and listen to what people REALLY want now-a-days.
My iPhone keyboard hasn't worked in weeks!
apple app store?
well, put it this way, atleast its cheaper..
