God, why can't car manufactures make the whole center console as a touch screen? Listen, You dont want people F-in around with a screen when they are driving. Most people cant even drive let alone operate something that has no tactile feed back.

Navigation consoles still remain a "luxury" feature, and to maintain that reputation as a "luxury" console keeps its value at a premium price.

Nonetheless, it's nice to see that Nissan is extending the competition with an affordable alternative for those who want the neat features of navigation without having to bust their wallet. If this turns successful, other companies will follow suit, and the competition will lead to more advanced consoles.

Well, the extra cost typically would be attributed to the design/development work of integrating it into the rest of the car. Most of the in dash systems do a lot more than just navigation and voice/communications. My stock receiver didn't come with build in MP3 support, only AUX which is weak imo. I know i would easily put in any of the hundreds of receivers, but most of them look too messy and cheap. I want something thats easy to ready, with big buttons, and simple/clean looking. This posted receiver look nice since it isn't as expensive as some out there, doesn't look super expensive so it wont get stolen in 2 days, and comes with a nice feature set.

I put the LCD for my backup cam in my headliner above the rear window. It works so much better than having one in the front.

because the positioning of the backup camera would allow you to see the blindspot directly behind the vehicle that you wouldn't see by just look behind you or using your mirrors. I understand what a backup camera is for; I have one. But it doesn't make any sense to me to put the monitor in the front of the car when you should be turned around and looking backward whenever you are backing up. Shouldn't the monitor be in the back?

About 1/2 the time when my camera lets me see something I wouldn't see otherwise it is because it has moved into my path as I am moving, not just beforehand. Having the camera in the front means you can only safely check it before you start moving. Putting it in the back means you can see it the whole time you are in motion.

By putting it in the front they are almost encouraging people to not turn around when backing up.
