reality 'searches for medicine manufacturers to get even more stinking rich over your dying body', because they certainly won't give any medication that's discovered as a result from the folding efforts for a penny less than their other stuff, so you probably won't be able to afford it.<br><br>Also SETI searches for vague patterns in signals, the freaking laws of nature still apply and even if we do find evidence then they won't magically be able to visit, plus a hundred lightyears away means we hear their signals from a hundred years ago and they would have to wait a hundred years to pick up any signal from us, and even at near lightspeed would take more than a hundred years to reach us, and the chance we'd see a signal as close as that is even smaller than the chance on any I could see running it if the machines still went to sleep after 10 minutes, but if they sit there all night and crunch SETI, that's a waste of resources. If its crunching while the machines are on anyways, the additional power isn't that significant.<br><br>Many schools need to seriously apply power management to their computers. There is no reason that a machine should sit idle for more than 10 minutes.
