Ever heard of Cyber Wednesday? Yeah, same here. But seriously -- when's the last time you heard us kvetch over a deal? Effective today only,
Peek's email-only handhelds are being offered up with lifetime service for half of the normal price. Buy any Peek handheld and you'll get service for just $9.99 per month for as long as you keep the device, which is certainly a bargain compared to the $19.99 that's typically charged. In other news, Wally World has announced that from December 5th through the 12th (while supplies last, obviously), a $50 gift card will be handed over when you purchase a
Wii console in-store. Just think -- Walmart is actually
incenting you to buy a Wii. Man, how the
times have changed.
Meh, I'll wait for Cyber Christmas or New Year.
My God! "incenting" is a REAL word!
@(Unverified) I know, All this time I have be typing incentivizing, I could have totally been saving 4 keystrokes all this time. That and although I am quite certain incentivize is a word, I have always been wary of incentivizing.

Meh...Darren is from North Carolina. Whole new language out there that Harvard scholars are now just *beginning* to decode.
What's with all the Peek lovin' around here? Looks like nothing special at all from where I'm standing.
@I Like Cookies
I don't get it. Why would someone pay $20 a month (or even just $10) for email only. It just seems to be a waste.
Oh man! I just can't want to pay monthly to check my e-mail!
@Enyoface1
What is good about a Peek? Obvioiusly its nice NOT to have a contract and pay $40 a month data charges like you would with a cell phone plan. Some people just want email and not a crazy phone.
@(Unverified) yes, but who are these people? I've never seen anyone using a Peek in my life.
hahaha does it really cost $20 a month for a peek
Cyber Wednesdays? Is this like Cyber Hump Day? Why not have cyber sex any day out of the week?
You can clip it on your belt next to your big black pager.
@FitFan
Do you know the importance of a Sky Pager!?
@Duke
ATCQ!
Oh man! I just can't want to pay monthly to check my e-mail!
I agree.
You guys use the word "kvetch" way too much. Just sayin...
@Vaughanabe13
It seems to be a Darren Murph favourite, just type "kvetch" into the Engadget search bar and you'll see it pulls up years of posts where he has used the word.
@hastings
Good catch, that's hilarious. I find that people who use the word "kvetch" a lot have average vocabularies, but tend to cling to one or two somewhat-obscure words that make them appear smarter.
Not sure why you guys can't figure out what this is good for. For someone who never uses the mobile web and doesn't want to get bent over by a carrier for a data package, this is a great option. Its target audience is not the readers of this blog, but people like my 60 year old parents who are moderately technologically knowledgeable, but have only always carried a regular cellphone and don't want the jump in monthly price ($30/mo. each with Verizon) that comes with adding data to their current plans.
I am very close to getting this today. I am a gadget hound, but cheap. I have to carry a BB for work but it is locked down so i can't access personal email on it. This is a good, cheap option as my work BB can be used as my cell phone.
At some point I will get a personal smartphone, but with all the great phones coming out i am sitting on the sidelines and waiting.
Does anyyone know if ordering through Amazon can still get the 9.99 price?
what happened to CP Wednesdays?
I want Cyber Caturday
Wally World? Listen, if you mean Wal Mart, just say Wal Mart. No need for references to bad Chevy Chase movies.
50 more bucks off a wii. I'll buy that.
Don't hate on the peek pronto (the twitterpeek is another matter all together), but for someone who doesn't want to pay $40+ for data and messaging, I think this would make a great buy!
