Target's remote control gift card puts normal ones to shame
We've been cranking on our holiday gift guide series, but if you've already decided that there's someone in your life who you simply can't buy for, here's a suggestion: snag 'em one of these. Following up on last year's blockbuster camera gift card, Target is offering up what's believed to be the planet's first remote control gift card for the 2009 holiday season. Put simply, this stupendously cute Santa Mouse card actually doubles as a small toy, with the card itself acting as a remote that controls a tiny mouse. Online gift givers will have to drop at least $25 in order to claim one, though there's a chance you could cheap out in the store just to have one of these around. Check out an all-too-brief demonstration video down in the Source link.

replace it with mickey mouse and I'm buying one.
...why?
@MaczekWolniek
Because toy cars, remote controlled objects and free things are all fun. Just add a camera and you have your own surveillance bot!
@MaczekWolniek Why not?
Sweet, is this available in Australia?
That my Aussie compadrie is highly unlikely
@AaronX
Aside from the fact that the Australian chain licenses their name from the US company, the two store chains are unrelated, so sorry, you may be out of luck there.
I'd rather have a gift card with more money on it so i can buy a real remote car with more than two buttons
@dystroglycan
The cards don't cost any more than the normal cards, so really you could have both! (well, only if the person giving you the card puts more money on it)
Remind anyone else of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNqT2odixzU ?
First time I saw that I laughed for 5 minutes straight.
The only reason i'll ever go to Target is to check out the hot girls.
@smartmouth if by hot you mean over 40, fat, and slow to ring my items up then I understand.
@smartmouth LOL! I bet none of them are returning the favor. Perv.
I know someone who works at Target and they said forget it. You most likely won't find one cause people come in just to get this thing and they can't keep them stocked. Seems silly to me. I had no idea what they were talking about till I read this.
@LargeFormat
The good ol' "I know someone who works at Target" line ey? Mmmhm. Put your iPhone down and get back to your register.
@(Unverified) Mr. Chuckles strikes again. So many jokes and so little time to spread them on the internet.
smart - hopefully you play around with it long enough to forget it's a gift card and don't actually spend the money...
That is so stupid, the promo video isn't even the device in use, its a cut out image of the device being moved across the screne in a video editing software with noise added to it, tells me one thing, the thing is a piece of junk designed to sell $25+ gift cards which'll break with in a few uses.
i dont get it, is it just a 2d mouse like a magnet that moves left and right? also do u still get $25 worth of credit for the $25 card?
btw i've been away for awhile and apparently missed some things. love the new layout engadget!
