We had a vendor write an app for our "Directors" (about 15 of them) to be able to use on the Axim's. We had training sessions showing them how to use the app, training on how the app would upload data to a central location. Probably spent about 3-6 months on the whole project. Less than 2 months after the project was completed, we find out the Axim will be discontinued.
Personally, I'm leaning towards one of the Android's from Sprint. However, I learned long ago not to buy something new to the market (hardware or software) until the bugs get worked out, and regular people can write reviews about their experience as opposed to someone who is getting paid for reviews.
For now, I guess I will stick with my BlackBerry since it is furnished by my job. :-)

notalinuxguru

Comments on Dell creates communications division for push into handheld market

I hope that they can bring competition into the market and help Android to compete with the iPhone, now that it's a serious contender (i.e. on one of the big two networks).

However, we'll have to wait and see how good the devices are, as HTC has made some really neat devices that have terrible RF performance. These devices should be as good of a phone as an old flip phone, you shouldn't have to trade RF and voice quality for data-centric features. With today's technology, you should be able to have both (i.e. DROID).

Right now, while HTC lags in this regard, Motorola, and Nokia have smartphones that are also good phones.
