About to buy a TV and all those non-standart-information out there aren't helping (120Mhz or not. Special input on TV only found by certain companies and so forth).
They better decide soon or I'll buy my TV that's not compatible, therefore I won't jump on board the 3D-train for a while!

Phil

Comments on AMD readying a demo of the Blu-ray 3D standard, might not wait for it to exist first

@Maschkenator Unless you are willing to hold off buying a TV for 2 or 3 years I wouldn't be too put out. There is no content, no set top boxes, no compatible TVs. Even when a full end to end standard appears it will take half a year for hardware to appear that implements it and another generation or two of hardware to implement it properly.

Mark

Comments on AMD readying a demo of the Blu-ray 3D standard, might not wait for it to exist first

@Maschkenator Current 120hz panels only provide a special effect / post processing. Their HDMI cannot actually accept a 120hz signal necessary for high quality 3D gaming and other 60fps mono / 120fps stereo content. Also, keep in the mind entire screen has to have a refresh rate fast enough to completely wipe the screen between each frame, one hundred and twenty times per second. The Samsung 2233rz works well, but I can't wait for a 3D TV that works with my NVIDIA glasses. Currently, only DLP HDTVs work with standardized shutter glasses.

Considering movies don't run at 60fps, I'm hoping new 3D BluRay players will allow me to use my Samsung LN40A650 and do the shutter glass sync through the BR player instead of the TV. :p

Brian

Comments on AMD readying a demo of the Blu-ray 3D standard, might not wait for it to exist first

I still have those glasses around here somewhere!
