iBuyPower nabs exclusive rights to sell Thermaltake Level 10 pre-built systems
So, there are two nagging issues surrounding Thermaltake's awe-inspiring Level 10 enclosure. First, it's $850 and nearly impossible to find in stock; second, you best know how to piece together a full-blown rig yourself, 'cause you won't find this beast hanging around at infrequently visited corners of Dell or HP. Somehow or another, however, iBuyPower has managed to swoop in and remedy quandary number two. As of today, it's the exclusive provider of pre-built systems using this case, with base configurations boasting Intel's Core i7-920, a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285, 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB SSD boot drive, 1TB of storage space and a Blu-ray drive. Feel free to spec this one out 'til your heart's content, but be mindful of that already-lofty $2,499 starting tag.

Aaaaaand i'm still not going to buy it..... Shave $400 and I might consider it worth it.
@SolidSnake
I'll be buying this for sure :) Exciting to see the news post, will save me the time to build my own system... funny, I was just talking to someone yesterday about buying this
@SolidSnake i would like to see the cable management on this baby
@SolidSnake
shave 2000 and i might consider...uh, forget it...
@NineT9 Please make sure to submit tons and tons of pictures and videos!
I fell in love with this tower/case since the first renders and sketches first came out, even before they were on Engadget or Gizmodo.
But I won't be purchasing a tower anytime soon since I am studying in China for a year then going to College in NY or Chicago and will be buying a MacBook Pro.
So I'm looking at 5+ years before I buy a solid rig.
But I will forever love and crave this case design.
Can that thing heat my room too?
@HotDog
Probably. You might also be able to fry a small egg on the surface from the heat of all those powerful components.
@HotDog make sure you get a nice 1000W power supply and use it all up. No SSDs either.
i'd hit it
Good thing its matte instead of glossy because I would have my fingerprints all over this thing!
Take that, Mac Pro!
Personally, I still wouldn't pay $2500+ on a PC although this thing does give me the chills sitting next to it...
@Schmitty
You're sitting next to it? How does it give you the chills? I'd figure it'd warm the whole house up.
@Maccadude33
Not it if keeps my stuff so cold! :P
@Schmitty
Well you gotta have a foot warmer of some sort...
The problem with this case is I wouldn't have any practical place to put it. Design looks too good and open to leave on the floor, but too big to put anywhere else. Still, I want one.
@Maccadude33
Yeah I agree with you there. My desk is fairly small as it is. I guess I'll just have to stick with my Coolermaster Storm Scout (which is a pretty kickass budget case IMO). :D
So my 1100 system plus the ssd for 2400. nice....
@Forcewinder
Yep! Totally worth it, right?
Pshhh....
@Forcewinder
Plus an $850 case... I don't know how you could possibly miss that. Unless you're implying you got all your components for
@midnightblade
The case isn't really worth 850 lol. 200-300 would be a suitable price. They're just inflating the price to make a profit on the early adopters and then it'll go down several hundred over time. The same thing happened with the iPhone.
And people thought Macs were overpriced! xD I always wonder who shops at these mini-boutiques.
Obviously the demographic they cater to is Power Buyers not Slick Dealers.
Forgetting the price, that thing looks sexy.
I personally wouldnt buy it but I get it.
Some people do put a premium on design and are willing to spend the money. There are better cases in the market, but not much with better industrial design.
So spare me the its-too-expensive shit.
Just like designer clothes. An Armani suit will not be as well made as a bespoke suit from an old-school tailor, but the Armani suit is much more modern and appealing to some as opposed to the conservative design of the hand tailored suit.
You guys act like they are selling a 486 for 500 bucks. This a case that will pretty much run most current tech with the exception of modding your PC to have all those water cooling options and such. Just let people buy what the fuck they want.
@kb24istrash
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this post! I can't stand internet posts, but yours is just full of gold :)
Good Armani analogy as well, Id say its like a Ferrari too, its silly to look at a guy in a Ferrari and go "I can't believe he just spent $400,000 on a car what an idiot, who spends that much on a car?"
Thermaltake's market for this case is for those that can apreciate design and pay a premium for it...which leaves out 99% of everyone.
I'm personally buying this case... I tried at NewEgg but they are sold out/unavailable until Jan 15th :(... The 2 reasons im buying it are the 6-HDD Bays, and the Design. I have yet to see a nicely designed case with 6 Hard Drive bays... all these PC cases look like rice rockets
Anyway, just wanted to give kudos on your post!
@kb24istrash
this pos is highly overpriced!!! dont buy this scam!!!1
@kb24istrash
Yes Ferrari and Armani. .. but this is Thermaltake and their quality (have a couple casses from them, seen all over Frys) is no where even near Lian Li or Silverstone. This wouldn't be a Ferrari, but rather a Kia being sold at a Ferrari price.
@kb24istrash Armani is actually pretty well known for being poorly made. The thing is clothes are worn to go out and impress... will you do the same with your PC case?
@kYing Good point about Tt's quality. I've been buying new watercooling parts the last few weeks, and every review I've seen has told me to steer clear of anything by them. Their cases are garbage, and their cooling is garbage too. Maybe this case is a statistical outlier, but I wouldn't get anything from them.
I just came.
too bad the worst computer company i've ever seen is the who got this. i fell sorry for anyone who does business with this place. think im full of it? check BBB or read reviews. good luck.
Mmmm Cylon goodness.
I've got to wonder how many cases they'll actually sell, at the prices they're charging for it. I'd take a standard case over it, anyday.
Shmexy? Sure.
Capable? Hell yes.
Pricy? Darn right.
Would I buy it? Don't think so.
$850 budget for a PC case, I'd personally just rip the innards from a cheapo case and throw them in something fancy pants I made out. 800 Smackeroos left, you can produce a far cooler case, if you've got some patience.
It would look nice in high glass white with matte silver accents
Fine-looking rig. Very stylish.
@Average White Boy
Aw man, your sig and your name are just perfect
ugly
That thing will attract more dust than Pig Pen
Yeah, I was thinking it looked like spiderweb heaven.
make it $500 cheaper AND 200% less fugly and maybe.
$2,400 isnt exactly lofty when you consider what MacPro's are going for these days ;-)
I move that no "i" or "e" shall ever again begin a proper noun un-capitalized.
At this point the case design has been shown so many times I no longer feel the desire to own it. It's great for shaking up the case design scene and hopefully would lead to cooler cases in the future, but I see no need to pay the premium and own it myself.
@cherryboom
Keep telling yourself that the processor in your Mac is different from the processor in a Windows PC. Or that your Hard Drive is specially made for Macs. How's that custom RAM treating you? Don't you get it? A computer is made up of individual components. Apple uses the EXACT same components as everyone else. The differences lie primarily in the case and OS.
The irony is that in your quest to be "cool" and "different" you have become nothing but minion to do Apple's will. Think for yourself sometime and you might be surprised at the results.
It's attractive.
This thing would have looked so much better in blue.
I'm referring to the red parts that is.
No doubt this case is going to be like a radiator,slowly cooking your parts to death. Good air flow is the single most important factor in case design, not style.
Practical? Maybe. Stylish? Definitely.
I personally think its a bit much to spend on a case, but DAMN that looks sexy.
Hem hem,
French site but...
