Meizu M8 app store to become reality this month?

Now that Meizu is setting the M8 up with some new firmware and further turning its back on the handset's KIRFish origins, how about an app store? Apparently that's exactly what's happening, as the following video will attest. Not too many details here -- it's called MyStore, and the company is planning to split revenue with developers 30 / 70. The store is currently being tested internally, and with any luck it should see the light of day as a part of the new firmware release later this month. If you've been dying for a chance to play a Chinese knockoff of BubbleWrap, that day is finally drawing near! See for yourself after the break.

That's one nice looking iPod Touch
If you look carefully, you will see his reflection briefly during the middle of the video. And what's with that creepy music?!?
oh, wait !!! maybe that wasn't "his" reflection. Maybe it was that of a Japanese schoolgirl with long dark hair....

you mean.... Sadako? =)
Why should we care about this thing again? It has missed its boat by YEARS...
Yeahhhhh, I think the store is the least of the problems after looking at that video.
The background music doesn't help this video...
@Dusty Yeah what's up with that LMAO
yay another app store
I have an iPod touch and a Droid and I use a total of about 4 apps between the two
I do acknowledge that some apps are extremely useful for business and everyday use, but I don't think they make the phone and I'm tired of company's marketing app stores as a main feature, especially when the company that makes the phone (or operating system) makes very few apps for it.
If there's amazing apps then the parent company should make them default on the phone, maybe by licensing or build them into the basic functionality, and then market the app store as a secondary (not very important) feature, because eventually everything from your phone to your TV your microwave will have an app store with a few good apps that will do tasks and that should be built in by default (task killer in Android for example) and then thousands of useless junk apps
I can't wait to add this to my bag of Chinese toxic junk.
Hmmm, let's see, PSP, DSi, iPhone 3GS, Blackberry, Zune HD and this piece of crap. Yay!
I wouldn't feel safe buying apps from a store that comes from a company that rips off for a living.
Sorry Meizu, but pool is closed.
It's laggy, unresponsive, it doesn t have very precise detection of the user input ... Chinese will have to learn at some point that bad copies won t lead them anywhere. They keep coming with their own copied stuff : Chinese DVD like format, Chinese Wifi like standard, Chinese democracy like society ... and got crush all the time ... I wonder when they are going to understand.
@Kherberos
Are you an indian or hillbilly or something? Do you get brainwashed by the propoganda created by the Pentagon?
In case you ain't been noticing, fakery aside, the products you use are made from China, never mind it's policies when we are no better illegally occupying other nations and making problems far worse for the locals than actually helping them. You don't have half a clue as to what you're saying so i suggest you get some kind of education and learn about culture rather than believing what you hear from the military or some nationalistic redneck. The growth and GDP of China is second only to the US, it's cities such as Shanghai/Chonqing/Shenzhen/Guangzhou are the fastest growing and devloping metroplises in the world with new transport projects such as airport terminals and trains that are on par, if not already ahead of Japan's and in some aspects more advanced than the west. The highrise construction projects happening in Shenzhen/Shanghai/Tianjin are booming and are showing no sign on stopping, the money is pouring into China and is what the US was 100 years ago, only under communism and not democracy but the boom and the way the country is changing is second to none, China will already house more than 10 of the top 20 tallest buildings in the world in 10 years time and that record will soon rival the UAE's, specfically Dubai's now that the place is bankrupt. Don't go by the KIRF columns you read on Engagdet.
@williamlau05
... so wrong, I m from old Europe. And I see China through some educated eyes. I m not impressed by the double digit growth, nor by the fancy looking cardboard society. The state of mind is all wrong, China only manufactures, not produce anything. And when they try to, it s only to be defiant, so what s the outcome ? Confrontation ?
@Kherberos
What do you call the material you write on using your pen? Who invent it?
If you people can't re-produce the same product, which means you don't have the ability or technology to produce it. If China can do everything means China can make everything. It is just a matter of whether it is worth to show the world they can do it or not.
@Kherberos
Hi. Just please sit down and shut the fuck up.

You know, some people might strongly disagree with my statement, and even put up a descent answer to it, that deserves respect. But your comment is just plain un constructive.
quadband english version please?
LAGtastic!
I thought Meizu was shut down for... well... making ipod look-a likes. Am I seeing this wrong?
There mp3 players at least earlier on didn't look like ipods at all, just had a similar color scheme and were pretty solid devices, like the M6. Not sure about their new mp3 players, but their touch screen players are phones are pretty KIRF-ish.
@Patlex
By "similar color scheme" to the iPod, do you mean black and white?
I love how a company can start as a KIRF maker, then slowly develop its products to become unique.
Congratulations Meizu for making progress. You may start off slow but the future awaits!
yay! I can finally now have one spot to purchase apps for my non-existant meizu m8!
so is this app store for their upcoming android m8 or the winmo powered m8?
For their, what, 10 users? They have more different models over the last 3 years than they have users. Seriously.
@(Unverified)
I don't know how many users Meizu has, but I do know that there are more mobile phone owners in China than there are people in the USA. Even a tiny piece of a gigantic pie is still pretty significant.

Wow you sound stupid! Are you talking about the potential over 1 billion users in China alone? Be happy that china is only making copies. When the day comes that they start making new stuff that's better than we make them here, then our economy is really going to hell in a hand basket......
Oh wait! They already do... it's called batteries and plug-in hybrids. The Chevy Volt isn't even out, and they're already mass producing the BYD FD3M, which goes 60 miles on battery alone (vs. 40 for the volt), and it only costs under $22K USD.
We as americans need to get off our high horse. The worse thing our country can do is to under-estimate our competitors.
"flvshow" sounds promising...
the dragon is awaking..............
