iriver E30 ships in China, gets handled in the wild
iriver's E30 hasn't shaken any trees since quietly launching in mid-August, but evidently the minuscule, no-frills player is shipping over in China. Available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB flavors, the pocket-friendly DAP is currently selling for around $66 at the low-end, and if you're eager to see precisely what it looks like in the wild, that source link down there has the goods you crave. Sadly, there's still no definite word on a US release, but if you find yourself a few time zones over this holiday season, we're certain it'd make for a great in-flight partner on the way back.

Is this

better than thist?
@Vempain
The batterytime for the iriver is specced at 52 h
and the diel symphony 300 seems to get 15 h
also, iRiver is known for their awsome audio output, can't find any reason why you would buy the symphony 300, for a DAP you want as much battery juice as you can muster up, im guessing you would be recharging the symphony 300 every night if you used it to commute to work/school, maybe not in the beginning, but give it a year, and sure, the batterytime for the E30 *might* be inflated, good batterytime sells.
@technognu
Been a while since iriver was known for their audio quality, they really let things slip in that regard, especially with all their 'e' players, although I can't recall hearing how this one was doing.
I think that a randy teenager would make for a better in flight partner.
where's the WIFI?
Only 2- 8GBs????
YAWN.
IPOD Touch FTW!!!!
@JakeInDC Really?
@JakeInDC
no there is no WiFi, you are being an idot, simply thinking that everyone wants an iPod Touch, where in reality, you could not pay me to use an iPod, simply because I disagree with everything they stand for. people who buy iriver, cowon, or samsung PMPs (like me) actually want a quality looking and sounding product, and want to stand out in the crowd.
Why does it look so much like a first gen iPod nano?
honestly, i think the e30 kinda looks like a 1st gen ipod nano. with a bigger screen and better sq. and no click wheel.
Yea, iriver needs a new design team..
iRiver's really been on a downward slope. This doesn't look like its going to change anything for them.
If these stupid little chinese PMP's just offered quality WAV/MP3 recording via line-in.. they might still be able to sell them to musicians.. they all have voice recorders but haven't seen anything for a long time sporting a line in. I use a little RCA lyra about the size of a BIC with a SD card slot to record to MP3 and bounce tracks back to my iphone/touch.. took a long time to find(3-4 year old old stock off ebay) and quality is margional..
Would love a little touchscreen gadget with 16GB quality wav/mp3 recording for under $99.
"ALWAYS record ALWAYS record"
Iriver E30 has already been being sold in China for months, about 33$ for 2G edition.
