I wouldn't expect those in attendance to want to bother with having to put on the glasses to look at the display, then back off to look at the players, repeat ad nauseum. I personally think we need to take a step back and stop for a while. Stop at 1080 that is. Companies are coming up with too many different products and standards that eventually everything is going to turn into one jumbled mess. TV worked in the past because it was simple. Take it home and plug in the cable, boom TV. Thanks - I've already seen quad resolution on a few TVs - e.g. the 150" panasonic and a number of prototype TVs at CES last January.

I think it definitely is a must for TV's over 70". Just about any resolution looks good on a tiny 35" TV. I'd love to replace my small (65") tv in my living room and put in a nice big 80" or 85" in the living room. I don't have the funds for a nice house in LA so a projector which would cost $25K for a decent one anyways is out of the question.

I was looking forward to buying a 10G Kuro this year (until they killed off the Kuros) as they were rumored to be releasing a 75" Kuro this year had they gotten the glass in time from Panasonic to keep producing TVs.

The Panasonic Plasmas while being one of the better plasma's on the market aren't even close to the Kuro 8G or 9G or older Fujitsu TVs either. Right now we are putting all this effort into 3D TVs. I don't get it - if 3D movies didn't make it into the 60's at the theater why would we want it on our TVs at home?

Picture quality is far more important to me than 3D gimmicks. Last years' Kuro is way better than the current TVs in terms of picture quality even at standard 1080p. For me I'd rather have absolutely great picture quality and when they get 3D technology to work like haulodeck technology without glasses give me a shout.
