Also for short stints the app is pretty damn good considering the screen size. I tend to have problems with iTunes since you need to have a local credit card attached to your account if you want to purchase something from that store and even the stores that I have "proper credentials" for tend to give errors when browsing from an international location. Itunes doesn't even have custom support via phone... had to email them to "beg" them to disable the account (took more then 24 hours to shut down the account... it took my credit card company about 60 seconds). Itunes refuses to take any responsibility for the unauthorized charges.

Somebody hijacked my account, changed the email address (and I received no notification of the change) and password so i couldn't see what was going on. Every other internet company tends to do things like email the old email address when someone tries to change it to a new one. Not itunes. Google "itunes credit card fraud", and you will be a believer in using gift cards... or just ditching itunes.

Used my BOA or HSBC cards and kept the device settings to US over wifi.

The bitch abt itunes is that say I want to buy a tube/metro map app in thats in the Japanese or HK store, I need to have a credit card with a local billing address. Otherwise it just gives an error "your account is authorized for 'xxxx' store" and takes you there :@.

I have been reading books on pda since my palm V with its 160x160 screen. 800x480 is roomy by comparison. I have read 100's of books that way (yes, 100s). You get used to it quickly, and flicking from page ot page doesn't really slow you down.

the convenience of having a pda with dozens of books in it with you all the time is great... assuming you are a reader.

The convenience of having multiple books in my pocket everywhere I go is great.Now that I'm used to it, I don't even notice that I'm reading on the iPhone.I can read at night without a night light. I can read at the table without the book constantly closing. I don't have to carry around a bunch of books. I can bookmark pages and highlight passages.
