Not many manufacturers are very interested in US as they have to do a lot for so little. What i mean is All US carriers run at their own frequencies and the company will have to lock the phone down according to the carrier and will have to lose a lot of features. In US its ok as the iphone itself does not have a lot features it self, but for others manufactures, its difficult. examples would be some carriers may like to lock the fm transmitter or or some other features like that... You get the idea. Outside the US, most of us buy unlocked phones as not a lot of carriers subsidize. In uk there are carriers giving phone. The thing is we know that in the long run the subsidized phones are too expensive. Most of the people keep switching phones once in 3-4 months and they cant really go for a contract. Also the availability of phones outside US is large. AS most of the good phones dont make it to US. Thats the situation now. I really hope the US smartphone market improves coz rt now the phones that sell well in the US are not very "smart phones"!(Im keeping the names anonymous)

lifenexus

Comments on ComScore: iPhone overtakes Windows Mobile use for the first time in US

@wsh03370 And I thought I was the only one hating and living with his WinMo handset haha

ai4281

Comments on ComScore: iPhone overtakes Windows Mobile use for the first time in US

@ai4281
you dont know anything about phones if you think its surprising

you probably also thought android outsells windows mobile. idiot fanboys.

extra2491

Comments on ComScore: iPhone overtakes Windows Mobile use for the first time in US

@Troll Keep in mind those numbers are from October and the DROID came out in November.

edu3000

Comments on ComScore: iPhone overtakes Windows Mobile use for the first time in US

@Troll

Probably Android IS outselling WinMo the graphics shows "devices (and thus operating systems) currently in use" not current sales figures.

Robin Jacobs

Comments on ComScore: iPhone overtakes Windows Mobile use for the first time in US

The graph doesn't make sense for Palm.
