The multi-touch is a bit lame really, only works in the browser and maybe other insignificant areas and its nowhere near as smooth a zoom experience than you get on the iPhone, but it works I suppose.

The fact is I can't pinch to zoom in the browser or picture viewer, nor is the on screen keyboard multitouch and the App Market alternatives all have issues that keep me from using them fulltime. So to me at least, this is porting multitouch.

Plus, you're wrong about it only porting the browser. The video clearly shows multitouch in the picture gallery. Also, IIRC the first thing that was tried was to just port the browser from the Milestone, but that didn't work. If you start hacking your phone to install updates not officially blessed you're on your own.
