Back when I had my iPhone jailbroken (Un-jailbroke around the time of 3.0) there was an accellerator lock app you could get.

SBSettings works perfectly on my jailbroken 3G running 3.0.1. It lets you disable the auto-rotation feature and do a whole bunch of other things.

I've only used it a few days, but with Swype I've actually been able to type without looking, since you don't have to be accurate with tapping. How is holding the phone in one hand and then still using the other a 1-handed typing device. You are using both hands. I type with out looking at with only one hand on my ancient N95 I used to own, That is one handed.

put this on your sd card and download an app installer to install it.
it works even on non rooted phones. I put it on my moms MT3G. works great.
the htc keyboard is by far the best android keyboard. I'm sure some people will be faster with one thing over another. Judging keyboards like this with anybody other than yourself is just pointless.

I can beat either of those two on my standard iPhone keyboard currently, but I've almost caught up to speed with Swype.

It makes one hand typing so easy. I always used the phone keypad with T9 to type one handed and was already very very comfortable with it but the new Swype keyboard has really come to challenge it.
