The word might have been left for demo purposes, maybe to show how to correct words after the fact. I'm sure if it were an actual race, Swype would probably win. <br><br>I've only used it a few days, but with Swype I've actually been able to type without looking, since you don't have to be accurate with tapping. How is holding the phone in one hand and then still using the other a 1-handed typing device. You are using both hands. Using ShapeWriter on the iphone though, I can type much much much faster than the guy in the video using swype. So it's an advanced form of T9 pretty much, that takes just as long to fix errors as it does to type on. Not only that, but this is pretty irrelevant, comparing two people other than yourself typing on a keyboard. <br><br>I'm sure some people will be faster with one thing over another. The two inputs are tied the whole way until the very end when the Swype user goes back and makes one correction.  Notice how the Tiki people slowed that part of the video down in slow motion to make it look like they won by more.  Cheap.<br><br>I've had a lot of experience with word prediction systems and there is a definite cognitive load having to constantly visually scan the prediction list to find the word you want.
