Lenovo set for January launch of Pine Trail-packing S10-3 netbook and S10-3t multitouch tablet
It's been awhile since Lenovo last updated its IdeaPad line, the S10-2 dropping over the summer, but we're hearing that the third iteration of the platform is set to be unveiled in the very near future. The model we spied at the FCC last month is confirmed to be the S10-3, possessing Atom N450 (Pine Trail) internals, a 10.1-inch screen, WiFi, 3G, and integrated GPS. More interesting is that there is an S10-3t model coming as well, a convertible tablet version which you can see the underside of above, thanks again to the FCC. It will feature a multitouch screen to make the most of its Windows 7 install, and hopefully won't be crippled by Starter Edition like another tablet we know.

I will buy a netbook with it is the size of the HD2.... :S Or when it comes with "Granola'"
Not sure about the Lenovo, but isn't it time that netbooks move up from the 1024x600 resolution.
Everything else appears to be getting better, but they're still crippled with the limited screen resolution.
@alberth I agree. 11.6" is still pretty small. I'd rather have a marginally larger netbook with a usable resolution than a smaller, less useful machine.
And besides, Dell has a 768p 10.1" netbook.
@alberth there is an IdeaPad S10-2 model with WXGA resolution (1280x720): M21BCGE
I haven't seen any compelling pinetrail models yet. I'll be waiting for one with full screen flash acceleration (ION w/ flash 10.1 will likely do the trick). I was also hoping the N450 would be a dual-core (4 thread) model, or would have substantial performance improvements. Unfortunately, I don't see much of a reason to upgrade from the N270s yet.
why-oh-why do they refuse to stick a trackpoint on these things... sigh.... they'd have my money in a heartbeat if they did...
@mryellow Aren't they making an x100s mini-Thinkpad?
If they can put a better OS than Win 7 Starter...then SOLD for me! I have been waiting for a great touchscreen netbook for awhile and I am looking forward to seeing this at CES in two weeks!
I am really looking farward to the new Thinkpad X series
