The war on RFID has just begun. Making it a gun is the best way to combat this threat. US passports also have RFID tags in them. Though it's oddly comforting to know that Germany is as stupid as us in this regard.

Meanwhile EU travelers still have to get a visa AND get fingerprinted and scanned when arriving in the US (another reason why many people avoid the us, they feel they are treated like criminals)
