If I were going to make a wireless desktop dock, that's certainly the way I'd do it. Induction coils like the Pre's touchstone dock can only really be used for power. Also, placing a receiver in the dock ensures compatibility with everything they'd like the device to do instead of messing with it to get it to an acceptable level of compatibility with every 3rd-party Bluetooth dongle/adapter out there. I'll respond with the most common phrase AT&T users tell Verizon and T-mo users who want the iPhone. Just get T-mobile.

Seriously though there will always be phones you want on other carriers. As of this moment there is no perfect phone. So don't worry. You will have a refresh sooner or later.

Personally the Nexus one looks too much like an iPhone for me to be interested. the X10 has a healthy bit of attention from me and that is available on both AT&T and T-mobile.
