You can't read a 300 page book on any display out there today that isn't make of E Ink without some serious eye strain.

Why is it so hard for people to understand the one and only purpose of E Ink is TO READ. You CANNOT read books with any other display that is available today. Do your eyes hurt reading engadget on the LCD or CRT your using? Do your eyes hurts after watching TV? This is the BS eInk has been saying for years without any proof.

The Kindle is a great idea but it is not the eInk screen it is the wireless and the instant access to books which has propeled its success. Sony has come out with 5 or 6 gen of eBooks and they all suck. eReaders are like PDAs at the time they were great but give me a multi-function device versus the back ache needed to haul around 3 or 4 different electronic gizmos.

Worse they still need their backlights indoors.

Everyone's eyes are different. But personally, **YES**, watching TV most definitely makes mine feel strained after awhile.
