Anyway, with the new webOS 1.3.5 update, webOS has now been optimized for performance and battery life. Here is my informal test:

Palm Pre - Big Improvement In Battery Life! Over 8 hours of heavy usage.

Based upon my test, the battery will last all day at work. Most people will not use their phone continuously for 8 hours with the screen fully lit.

I tested my Palm Pre phone by turning the display into a flash light and running multiple applications. It took 5 minutes to drain 1% of the battery. At this rate it will take 8 hours and 20 minutes to fully drain the battery from a 100% charge.

In informal test, I have used the Palm Pre after installing the new webOS 1.3.5 update with pretty heavy usage and it has lasted for over 8 hours with 20% of battery remaining. This gives the user more control over how to allocate the phone’s storage space across applications, music, photos, and other media. The user can use other features of the phone while the apps are being restored.
* Swiping to delete a list item that contains a link no longer causes the link to open in the web browser.
* This release includes improvements to help ensure consistent phone response to user actions, including times when the user is using multiple applications/features at the same time.

Updates

* After taking the 1.3.5 update, users can download future updates over a 2G (1xRTT 1x title bar icon, GPRS 1x title bar icon, EDGE 1x title bar icon) data connection by opening Updates and tapping Download Now.

Web

* The web browser now supports the display of animated GIFs.
* Audio files with a .3g2 extension play correctly as audio files, not video files.

Security

This release includes a security fix to the dev portal.
