"Thailand's Finance Minister Suchart Jaovisidha had to be rescued today from inside his expensive BMW limousine after the onboard computer crashed, leaving the vehicle immobilized.

Once the computer failed, neither the door locks, power windows nor air conditioning systems would function, leaving the Minister and his driver trapped inside the rapidly heating vehicle.

Despite the pair's best efforts, it took a full ten minutes before they were able to summon the attention of a nearby guard who freed the two men by smashing one of the vehicle's windows with a sledgehammer.

A report published in the Bangkok Post indicates that the vehicle was Mr Jaovisidha's own BMW 520 which was being used while his state-supplied Mercedes, was being repaired.

B.S. I own the Edge and the Microsoft's Sync is horrible. It's been a terrible frustration for me and my family.

I use it with the iPhone (I own the 3GS and my wife the 3G) and its horribly inconsistent, moreover the text messaging through the Sync is absolutely useless. It plain doesn't function as advertised.

The Sync is an absolute joke, happy with the overall car, just not the Microsoft Sync. I've been having too many problems with reliability.

In the only other post you have on the AOL web sites, you claim to be a domestic car dealer (no reason not to believe you).

However, that brings up a question - either you do not work for Ford (which means you do not support the company you work for by buying a Ford), or you do work for Ford, but are a bad employee. Shouldn't you know your product well enough to gauge wether SYNC is a good product or not, and not buy it if it is bad? Sorry to give honest user experience on your company of choice, but that is what I have encountered from my personal experience with the my Edge and MS Sync.

Sometimes Sync would be so bad that I would just hand-hold the whole to talk- something I don't like to do when driving. Too many dropped calls, something that a cheap BT headset can do better.

Sync is advertised to do all things from read back text messages to voice recognition, its terrible in practice at both those things, but that's not what I have issue with. Point to me where I said I am an Apple hater? AI may have said it sarcastically, but i am not. In fact, I have been called an Apple fanboy before simply because of the number of Apple products I do have, if you would have read a post I made yesterday you would have seen that.

I do not have a Ford and therefore a SYNC, so I am not commenting on if it is a good product or not.

But if you are stating I am a shill who works for MS (I am not paid by and therefore can't be a "shill", nor do I work for MS or any company associated with them) for pointing out obvious lies, such as the person above claiming it was MS' fault when, as the facts state, the product in question did not even exist when that model of car was produced, then I gess there is nothing more I can say. I was also just asking a question of Lemon, because something does not add up. There are also many people around here with Apple logos or pictures of Steve Jobs in their picture. They are, therefore, unreliable sources and from this day forward cannot be believed. Sorry people like "Unix" (who has, incidentally, an Apple AND BMW logo - so he would ne be able to be trusted for anything in this article).

The Forte, Forte Koup, Soul, and the new Sorento are all great looking, well built cars that are competitive in their respective classes.

All of them (yes, even the 14k Forte) have iPod jacks and Bluetooth STANDARD.

All of them are cars I would consider buying (but the Sorento... maybe for my Mom).

This is the boost Kia really needs, a Sync-like system, which is also made by Microsoft. You mean it doesn't happen right now? A lot of car companies that put computers and various electronics in cars use a stripped down version of Windows CE, as well as many GPS devices as well.

I was actually talking more about package design, as in logos, typography, spacing, graphics, etc. If you've ever looked at an Apple package beside a Microsoft package, you'll see an immediate difference. You can say Microsoft design is better in your opinion if you want, but then you've just got to be a troll.

But, since you brought it up, have you ever used a Magic Mouse? Besides the fact that it's the best looking mouse I've ever seen (you said not to bring it up, but it *is* a factor of product design), it works great. On that topic, you say that there is an immediate difference between Apple's graphic design and Microsoft's. I completely, wholeheartedly agree. This is without saying one is better than the other though - typographically speaking (kerning, leading, etc) both produce fine work. Graphically speaking, Microsoft's graphic work tends to be quite busy, while Apple's has little personality. Sometimes sterility can be a great asset. Other times, character is king. I find Apple's sterility to be bland and tiresome, though I feel the same about Microsoft's busyness.
