My x200 is way better built than my IBM T42. Couldn't agree more. There's always a price to power to portability trade-off. Stay away from the latitude e6400s. We use them at work, and I am still using my old T42 (which if you look on the bottom, is a Lenovo anyway) because the e6400s are just junk. Utter craptops. I literally watched one break while it was sitting on a conference table. The screen just cracked down the middle. The screens seem to be a weak point to begin with, we've replaced 6 screens out of probably 40-50 e6400s we just bought in within the last 2 months. We are evaluating new companies now, and I am pushing hard to go back to Lenovo, the cost savings isn't a savings if we have to spend the difference on a "dell total care" plan to cover the laptops that break themselves.

If you do go dell, make sure you spend the several hundred dollars on a good warranty, as when they break, dell considers you at fault even if it happens just sitting there, and won't cover their own faulty products. If your misguided hate towards them overwhelms you, simply deactivate it permanently and be done with it.
