ATT has had 7.2mbit since summer when Apple released the 3Gs since it actually has an upgraded 7.2mbit radio compared to the 3G.

It does not have the backend to suppor the faster speed towers, so its 7.2 theoretically right now. Until the bottle neck is fixed(planned for 2011) then AT&T's 3G speeds wont be any faster and you will continue to face dropped calls and slow connections.

Tmobile just needs large coverage. They have had horrible coverage for the last 10 years. Within a year...T-Mobile now has 200 million subscribers covered by 3G.
Compared to AT&T's 230 million in how long of a timespan??

T-Mobile is moving fast...and already putting out trials for 21Mbps speeds.

With this I say...they can take their time with LTE. They cover 200 million with 3G. They have faster 3G speeds.

But Verizon coverage area compared to T-Mobile's is still no competition.

But I'm just fine with my T-Mobile here in Louisville.
I have great reception, awesome 3G speeds...I couldn't ask for more.

I got tired of waiting for 3G though. I was promised and promised and promised "Within 2 months" for 2+ years. When I started traveling for work, I NEEDED 3G data coverage for tethering and just couldn't go on without it. Switched to Vz, was happy for almost 3 years and then was lured by the iPhone. I have no real complaints about AT&T's coverage in my area (Southeastern PA), but always liked T-Mobile's customer service, and general coverage in this area as well. Untrue, while Big Red's EV-DO isn't as fast as ATT's HSDPA, it is 3-4x faster than EDGE, on average.

I have the Blackberry Bold and i currently have 5 bars of EDGE. I dont thinks its the handsets, its the "NETWORK". I hate the fact i pay $30 extra for something im only getting 3 or 4 hours a day. Dallas is right up the street from me. I have an HTC Pure, I know almost a dozen people with iPhones. I always, not usually, always have better signal and fewer drops than than they do. Seems like a handset problem to me.
