I never had a good experience with an Nvidia IGP. I have a new i7, and while it is awesome, I never see more then 3 cores being used, and its not like I ever have any slow downs.

We get it, lots and lots of general purpose CPU cores...awesome, but I'd prefer to phase out GPUs.

QPI was a good start, but with smaller technology, u can pack more components into a single IC, so their should be less and less on the Mobo.

Maybe check the latest numbers, the new IGPs are on par with AMD's 790, and about 95% of Nvidia's 9300m.

I think the phrase you're looking for is all IGPs suck.

Two reasons: first, you become market leader by offering products that are useful to as many segments as possible.

However, they would do fake demos of the chip to convince fanboys not to buy the competitors products.
