Some of them now perform on par with most plasmas (other than the Kuro's and maybe the new top tier Pannasonics)

He's actually correct; AMOLED and plasma have better contrast ratios with deeper blacks. Recently I bought 47" 1080p 60hz HD TV.
To made this decision, I was researching about HDTV technology. Dynamic Contrast is very simple trick. (when they measure black, backlight is turned off or lowered) LCD pixels cannot block backlights completely, but OLED does not have to do that. because OLED does not have backlight. this is why local dimming trick came out.

Also. I am very disappointed about 120hz and 240hz since I found out every HDTV only can accept 60hz input( Which means that 120hz and 240hz are emulation from 60hz original sources) except 3D ready TVs (they have additional connector)

3D tv is total capitalism(it is bullshit to me). Even HDMI cable(1.3 ver) can transfer more than 4.8 GB/s (1080p 120hz 3D contents), TV manufacture want to you buy 3D ready TV which is more Benjamins require.

Most TV programs and movies are less than 30FPS.It means that 60hz TV can handle that (30hz for left eye, 30hz for right eye)
however TV maker don't care about it.

I am a person who want 3D TV(with glasses) to be die. ( Sorry guys)

I means that each person needs glasses, it require additional $$. They charge for it $50~100. four family member? $200~400 additional money. I'd like to see real 3D without glasses. as you know shutter glasses tech been out for long time. I think what they need to do is 3D without glasses.

On another note, any manufacturer claim of dynamic contrast is BS, just as the guy posted earlier. A typical LED LCD has a contrast ratio of about 2000:1. I agree. Plus the difference between 3.9mm and 1inch is pretty much irrelevant to me. There is no practical place I would place this TV that would require it to be thinnner than an inch. I have some unframed canvases that are about 1/2" thick, some that are 1.5" thick. I have framed stuff that approaches 2.5" and even framed photos are all still thicker than this thing. In other words, most people who could afford this have stopped putting posters on their walls probably wouldn't be even slightly adverse to something 1" thick if it looked classy enough.

I think the battle for thinness has reached the silly point and they should start focusing on reducing the bezel and improving contrast and general image quality rather than sacrifice those things to go any thinner.
