HTPC's are a pain and expensive, but do everything. TV's with streaming typically have almost no real utility. Boxee is bridging the huge gap in between the two. Some day, TV's will have the featureset of a Boxee system built right in, and the transition will be complete.

Dave

Comments on NUU Player runs Boxee on Atom

@cros13

+1 for getting XBMC on this. Do you not have faith in Engadget readers to know what that means? I just find it.. off putting.. It's like when you call a generic DVR a "tivo" so that someone else will understand, except in this case XBMC is the original. I can't tell if you are implying that Boxee is more well known or what. In any case, even if it is an option at a later time, the title of this article is factually incorrect.

Ned Scott

Comments on NUU Player runs Boxee on Atom

@Ned Scott Watch the video, its actually running Boxee, not XMBC. Nilay is calling Boxee the grown-up version of XMBC in the article. Although I would agree with you, XBMC is the grown up version of Boxee, the original and the best, not the other way around. That said though, its gonna come down to individual opinions/preferences, they both kinda hit different groups of people.

Adam

Comments on NUU Player runs Boxee on Atom

@bjbk
Ooooh, stupid me.
