If you use an odd number of displays, then you have a center view and then periphery monitors. So if your playing a first person shooter on this thing, your aim cursor is going to be split between two monitors with a giant black bar separating the two. I'm running 3 19" LCDs at work because I can't get anything bigger.  I've got a 24" at home which is nicer in some ways, but in other ways I like the 3 better.  Just don't spread stuff across them.
