Instead of having to reconnect your Ethernet, USBs, DVI, and audio - you just connect a single USB cord. It's very useful to workers who frequently take their laptop home or on business trips. This will also offload much of the audio (7.1) and video processing to an off-lappy device, plus give you a 6 port USB hub.
