The OS is good for what it does, and it's very competent and robust.  To say otherwise is pure ignorance on your part. They still want you to believe Windows is a better server OS than Linux just because there's a multi-billion dollar company behind it -- as if that does the end user any good.<br><br>WinMo is a half-baked ancient OS, and I'm surprised anyone still defends it.  Since I'll be accused of never having used it (sigh, this gets old), actually I have, I used to own a WinMo phone, and it was terrible. When was the last time you used WinMo exclusively as your primary cell phone device?<br>---------------------------------------------<br><br>It was just a few years ago that everyone was running WinMo 5.x. The OS was bad, especially when the iPhone came out. Everything was ugly when compared to the iPhone. <br><br>Then 6.0 came out. A very solid improvement over the 5.x generation. With tweaks you could have a great OS. Very stable (maybe once a month my phone would need a soft reset). <br><br>Finally, 6.5 builds on 6.0 and makes some great improvements. From UI to speed, to being a more finger friendly solution.<br><br>I've used WinMo since the early years and it's quite easy to see the evolution of the product. While it still has major deficiencies - I do like it better than my iPod Touch. It has been my experience that people who rip on WinMo:<br><br>1. Have never used the device<br>2. Used a version prior to 6.0<br>3. Didn't tweak their device<br><br>I just haven't ran into ANYONE who is running 6.5 on a custom ROM and hating life. In fact, it's quite the opposite. People just need to give it a chance. I know it's hard when you come to Engadget to get your news. No one person can know everything there is about it, and to profess they do, well is just folly.<br><br>I do understand people have opinions, I was addressing the fact that you stated: "Microsoft is just upset that iphone OS and droid OS > windows mobile will ever be" which is a very misinformed statement.  Windows Mobile is a very stable and suitable OS for people in the business industry or tech industry who need a robust mobile OS.<br><br>You can take my comments with a grain of salt all you want, the fact still remains you are uninformed on mobile operating systems.  Their benefits, their uses, and their target markets.  If this was a Symbian or a Blackberry OS post you would have probably chimed in with iPhone OS and Android OS > (either). Neither is assuming.<br><br>Your ignorance can assume I know nothing about mobile OS's however; your ignorance will be incorrect.<br><br>This little disagreement will continue indefinitely if we let it; it's all in what you look for in a mobile OS.  I look for apps that are easily installed, a user friendly environment (that requires little tweaking), and little/no crashes.  Out of all the mobile OS's I myself have used, I find that WinMo is the least appealing to me (I'm not alone on that argument either).<br><br>Also when I said Unix I was referring to the user Unixsystemengineer my apologies for not using the correct capitalization (we all know that is most important when trying to get your point across) /s<br><br>I feel that we are getting nowhere with this argument and we should just leave it at our differences. Especially running the prettiest and most finger-friendly interface is still currently HTC's Sense UI most WM phones are not nearly as responsive as other phones with similar hardware specs.<br>Also, the lack of a polished WebKit browser hurts even if Opera has been holding down the fort. The owner is king in the house and dog does what master says.  Cats however are independent creatures and will decide on their own when it's time to play, work, or generally be good.  It makes a great analogy if WinMo gets to be the cat with a mind of it's own... sleeping whenever it feels like it... Chihuahuas are prone to being overweight if they are allowed to over eat and are fed too many table scraps. My chihuahuas are not overweight yet they are fed from a large bowl, that they share with two labs one of which is 125lbs, and they also eat small scraps but nothing very large.
