Apple can just wait for Nintendo to go out of business. Why pay a premium price for the company to buy it out. If Apple decided to build a real hand-held mobile gaming device (with buttons and analog controls) people would practically stop buying the DS. In a way, Apple is giving Nintendo a break by not completely stealing the market from them. Is that a joke? Nintendo is always unaware. See online multiplayer, CD, HDTVs, DVD, processing power's benefit to gameplay, upgradable firmware, multimedia functionality, background downloading, sharing online currency/account info between multiple devices, proper internal storage (ie: hard drive) voice chat, multiple user profiles on a single device, the list goes on.
