Forget the messenger (Greenpeace) for a minute... Having a laptop free of PVCs and BFRs is good FOR YOU--not just "the environment" (which means different things to different people apparently!). PVCs off-gas formaldehyde (a dangerous carcinogen--not like saccharin =) and exposure BFRs has the effect of emulating estrogen (yes, that means exactly what you think it does). In fact, BFRs are the most likely contributing factor to blame for the current trend of girls entering puberty a year earlier than normal in first-world nations (along with other developmental disorders/problems).

Not only that but this article on Engadget missed a pretty important detail: The laptop is both 100% recyclable and biodegradable. That's both A) impressive and B) important (whether you care or not). Why is it important? Because all of our electronics will get discarded eventually and when that happens we don't want them to end up poisoning our water/oceans (or if you're vulnerable to such statements, "our children!!" =).

Also, a lot of the elements/materials inside of our electronics are getting more and more scarce as time goes on. The more recycling of these things that goes on the cheaper our electronics will be in the future.

-Riskable
http://riskable.com
"I have a license to kill -9"

Riskable

Comments on Acer Aspire 3811TZ and 3811TZG get Greenpeace stamp of approval

To make e-waste more green~ good following of Apple's example Acer.
