In order to get it, they will make, build, or otherwise create stuff so that others will give them this "money." I thought you'd completely forgotten about the most important tech company in the world when the stock is shooting up ever higher on heated anticipation of the Tech Product of the Year or maybe even the decade. It's a small price to pay for the new features/options for an iPod Touch, which is a one time purchase anyway. It's been rumored that there is a correlation between how long he farts and how good his keynote will be.  A long, gentle fart means he's relaxed and will deliver a deliberate, well-paced demo. Basically, GAAP says that if you continue to actively support something you have to recognize revenue for the duration of the time you support it.  So, if you continue to provide updates to the iPhone for 3 years you’d have to spread the revenue over that time period (I'm not sure about the exact timing). A full OS on a tablet would be a total fail.  Only nerds want to run Windows 7 with their finger.<br><br>A tablet is a different type of device, and as such needs a different type of OS. I have and it's a slow blundering pc of $@#T... 2+ mins to even start up, the out of the box experience is sad. Battery was dead, had to charge it for hours to get it ready, then wait forever to boot, then another boring Win 7 setup. Well, you can't get much lighter than an OS designed for a particular device... ie iPhone OS.  <br><br>You know how you pick up an iPhone or iPod Touch, and the thing turns on instantly?  Or when you click on something and it loads in less than a second?  That's why you want software that was written for a specific piece of hardware... everything is built for that environment.<br><br>Versus... you pick up a Windows 7 tablet, it's got to boot like a computer, and it's got the huge Windows Registry, drivers and all the other overhead of a full-blown OS. I'm not sure it's a great idea to cram an OS designed for a Quad-Core desktop into a small gadget.<br><br>I doubt Apple's tablet will be a keyboard-less Macbook running full OSX.  It's probably gonna be a *gadget* that is designed to do certain things... and do those things very well.  <br><br>Instead of... I have been using a Nexus one and found the daylight issues to be significantly overstated. It is winter and hasn't been the brightest of sunshine, but it was still very usable. Regardless, a tablet of this size isn't going to be something you carry around and whip out on a whim, like a cell phone or PMP.
