Originally it was good and had many diverse programs on it all in quality HD, but it has now become the internal combustion channel as that is all that is on it anymore. Cars, car auctions. motorcycles and more. For me, it now sucks big time and they should stop calling it Discovery HD Theater and name it the Internal Combustion Channel. So for 3DNet, prepare to get all the 3D views of cars and motorcycles you can handle because that is apparently what they feel is compelling content for their showcase channels.

Chris

Comments on Discovery searches for name for 3D channel, 3DNet is on the list

HDNET-3D. Problem solved for Mr. Cuban.

Actually I like the sound of that better, because it emphasizes both 3D and HD.

3DNet is a *terrible* name for Discover Channel 3D. It doesn't say anything about content. Consider "Discover HD Theater" as a contrast; great name, and we know what it's all about.

Of course, by the article, sounds like it's not a traditional "Discovery Channel," so maybe 3DNet will work. However, I'm betting this is more about lack of 3D content than anything, and eventually it will probably become a 3D version of Discovery's typical content.

-Pie

EatingPie

Comments on Discovery searches for name for 3D channel, 3DNet is on the list

What do you think about:
3Discovery? or 3HDiscovery...

Pat_f40

Comments on Discovery searches for name for 3D channel, 3DNet is on the list

I'm in the 3D marketplace, and I'm confused. I'd assume that 3DNet was owned by HDNet. Are you sure it isn't? You must be wrong. Yeah, that's it, you're wrong and I can rely on HDNet owning 3DNet.

Silly? Perhaps, but that is pretty much the basis of trademark law. I'm actually surpirsed that the USPTO let that one through.

See "Lamps R Us" (now Lamps Plus) for what happens in cases like this.

kcmurphy88

Comments on Discovery searches for name for 3D channel, 3DNet is on the list

Discovery Channel: The 3rd Dimension ..... in HD

DC3D

8th Gamer
