Lasers are always in focus and have great contrast, use less battery than the TI DLP stuff.  They will be embedded into the phone, because they are smaller.  But, lasers aren't here today, mostly because one component, green lasers, aren't in production yet.  Wait another six months, then it will happen.  Further, lasers have specklign problems which will also get fixed.  TI stuff if great for an accessory.
