Pentax's Optio I-10 point-and-shoot gets the hands-on treatment
Pentax managed to turn a few heads with its new batch of retro-styled point-and-shoots, and the folks at Pocket-lint have now already managed to get a hands-on with the top-end model of the lot: the Optio I-10. As you might expect, they seem to have been suitably impressed by the "cute and miniature" design, although they're quick to point out that this is far from the "hybrid" camera it might appear to be In fact, they say it's "very light," which apparently prompted some folks they handed it to question if it was "even a real camera." Not exactly the most encouraging sign, but Pocket-lint is promising to say more once it's had a chance to really put the camera through its paces.

It does look like a toy. But at that price, it probably takes some pretty good pictures.
Maybe if they made it 10" and removed the camera and all the buttons I would consider it. But in a post-iPad market like this? This thing doesn't stand a chance.
@sonicyoof
Now you see, you mentioned the iPad. I knew someone would....
@SolidSnake But you've got to admit.. he did it in a very witty way, unlike others..
What's sad that the camera it takes its design cues from, the Pentax 110, uses film that's practically the same size as the 4/3's sensor... it could have been so much more.
@yslee
Agreed completely. A digital version of the Auto 110 that uses the same lens mount as the film version would be incredible.
back in the day when I had a CD player, I got one no bigger 3/4".. think I dropped it...it broke...
lesson here, don't drop your crap
Wow didn't realize it was that small
@mcfine
That's what she said.
Sorry. Had to.
Does it have a lanyard loop thing? I need to attach this to my keychain.
tiny camera is tiny
Holy shit that's small!
I've seem pics of that camera posted all over the place online, but until you see someone holding it, you don't realize just how tiny it really is. That's awesome.
love how small it is.
@artist that's not what she said. =(
Yes but at that size it will not improve the stature of bulge in my pants. A bit of an ego let down.
Now get some stats on it
Why would you even want this? Go buy an iPad, it does all this and much more.
@maattp
Yes the iPad takes pictures through the aluminium back.
@maattp
Yeah i can see myself holding that gigantic iPhone to take pictures.
@londonjackk
lol
Its really small. Not bad to grab it if the pricing is reasonable.
looks real cheap and plastically
Hands on? More like fingertips on - that things tiny!
Hey! Can someone please tell me if it's worth the buy? I've been looking for a camera since December and this one is so cute and miniature.
