I have an hp tablet that I use at work to present ppts and make annotations. All the companies that claimed tablets and slates are a waste of time and no consumers will buy them are already starting to pump them out like OctoMom.  A tablet running a full version of Windows 7 using an Atom processor is going to be another steaming pile of failure.  Three hours of battery time is pathetic.  Watch a movie and read 20 pages of a book and your PCSlate will be deader than Julius Caesar.  I'm sure all the Windows lugnuts are going to try to load a full version of Microsoft Office and have it run like a slug when the anti-virus software kicks in.  This slate is not a rip-off of the iPad.  It's not worthy enough to be called that. You've paid for it. You want to use it somewhere else but can't. So now you need to pay another $30 for all the same apps on your new platform. No amount of USB ports and CPU power is going to make using Windows 7 on a tablet a better experience than iPad. Is there even a decent multitouch browser for Windows, with pinch zoom, double-click column zoom etc? That alone will make the iPad the ultimate tablet. Android might come close but considering the iPhone still has the more polished UI then Android phone I'm pretty sure the tablet situation will be the same.<br><br>How nice of an experience will it really be to use Windows on a tablet? Have many of you here even tried? How about right-clicking task tray icons. Pull down menus. The little + icons in Windows Explorer. Window management. Those are all going to suck with a finger and you know that's not a comprehensive list. Windows simply isn't made to be a tablet UI.
