Pico projectors are useless already, why mutate my cell phone into a bulky monstrosity? Isn't that like going back to the days of carrying a giant brick around? Heck, why don't we just smash other things that don't belong on a cell phone on there too. Can we get a mini pizza oven? I would sooner buy that.

Kinjo

Comments on AAXA intros L1 laser pico projector / media player

@Kinjo

I hardly think this is going to take us back to the bricks of the 80s: http://www.itechnews.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/explay-colibri-mobile-projection-module.jpg. Also think of all the things the average mobile phone has had integrated into it over the years GPS, compasses, cameras, radio receivers, torches, stereo speakers, Bluetooth modules, USB ports, 3.5mm jacks, memory cards and that's just off the top of my head. Now you tell me, despite all this going in over the years, has the trend been diminishing phone sizes or the opposite? With the recent exception of larger screens inevitably meaning winder and taller handsets (though not deeper), I think we know what the answer is.

One more thing, I said 'infinitely more', not absolute. Oh btw I like your idea of the mini pizza oven, perhaps it could somehow work off the redirected radiation that is normally devoted to frying your brain?

Tim

Comments on AAXA intros L1 laser pico projector / media player

That sanwa projector is now $179. It's the best of both worlds. It's small enough to take it everywhere on the laptop bag, it's DLP with 50 Lumens 858x600 which is 5x the average pico-projector. I'll be waiting for the release of a 720p DLP pico-projector with at least 50 lumens below $500.

Strangelove

Comments on AAXA intros L1 laser pico projector / media player

You had me at laser, but then you lost me at $599.

Craig

Comments on AAXA intros L1 laser pico projector / media player

Anyone else see a potential business model for "Back alley pr0n shows"?
