Does the iPhone have the only App Store?  If it was Android would the headline say "...finally hits the market."?  Or, if a BB, "...finally hits the App World."<br><br>And I realize that "App Store" is the proper name of the Apple App Store, but it's also a fairly generic term for those who aren't as "in the know," don't ya think? Many Skynet apps will follow.  Skynet will become self-aware when the unified global 4G standard is deployed.  Android phones will become Terminators, iPhones will become Bloody Cards (obscure Dirty Pair reference) and Palm Pres and Pixies will merge into Palm Pricks, which will prove to be the most deadly Skynet killing machine. That infrastructure isn't available globally. Even a relatively "simple" request like asking for movie show times requires access to an online database that is regularly updated and that the app knows how to access. <br><br>There's also the little fact that this app is using technology developed by and for the U.S. military. Therefore it makes perfect sense that it would be deployed to the U.S. first. An AI that will manage my life and the lives of its other users.  <br><br>"Siri is young and, like a child taking its first steps, may be awkward at times. Siri may occasionally misunderstand things you ask it to do even within its range of understanding.<br>Nonetheless, Siri will improve quickly by getting to know you better and understanding a broader set of tasks. In fact, right now, Siri’s learning how to handle reminders, flights stats and reference questions. Our vision is that, over time, you’ll trust Siri to manage many personal details in your life - from recommending a wine you might enjoy to managing your to do list."  <br><br>As for the app itself, it look fun and maybe even useful, but at the moment I think I'd still rather take of things myself. The app failed to "understand" that a city nearby has 2 words in its name: "St. Paul". So, it looked for "an event" in "st" near "paul"...or some equally unintelligent b.s. Come on, Siri, you MUST have thought cities may have two words in the name.
