I loved my old Treos, and after playing a bit with a Pre I feel like WebOS is really for me.

That being said I would like some different hardware. Pre's screen is a bit too small, and the lack of removable storage is just... fruity.

Also I have read some reviews but none of them cover my specific scenario: how does Web OS sync with Outlook when one is NOT using Exchange? I understand all sync is done wirelessly/over-the-air but I want my contacts and calendar items to show up on my desk and in my pocket (no matter where they get entered from) without having to futz around with Google calendars and crap like that. This is something that worries me about Android devices as well, no matter how I covet them. No Outlook sync, no dice-- and all the rumors I hear about WM7 aren't too heartening either (no Flash? No multitasking? App Marketplace installs only? Is MS's grand strategy just to ape Apple? I truly do not understand).

nefnet13

Comments on FCC paper trail suggests AT&T getting Pre in May?

@nefnet13 I agree entirely. Lack of Outlook sync has kept me out of WebOS and Android entirely. I guess there aren't enough small businesses using Outlook without exchange for them to consider.

I'd be happy if Google would get their act together and unify their syncing. Their beta calendar sync app is a good start, but they have stalled there.

Right now I sync Outlook Calendar with Google Calendar, then GCal with my phone(s) over-the-air, but I have to sync Outlook contacts, notes, and tasks with my phone(s) through USB.
