It makes the cables 10 times more expensive and even more prone to breaking since all the stress could be put on one cable instead of all 24 of the wires as a unit. IMO it just looks less clean and while it may be more flexible it would be harder to manage in the long rung.

If you look at it as 'stupid' then just about everything else in the PC mod business is. Look at it this way: a new or different look simply makes the rig more bad-ass or menacing - not necessarily more functional. I'm a modder myself and I agree with everything you said, I just think that these wires make it less bad-ass and less menacing and obviously less function so there is no positive effect. Maybe it would be cool if he used different sleeving color on certain wires which would introduce something unique or stylish, like there was some actual reason and thought into the mod other than just to say, i spent 3 hours resleeving my cable.
