I wish I were wrong, but even by then it'll at best be like SSD is right now: it's awesome, but expensive, and you don't really<br>know anyone who has one. I still thought that by now OLED would scale larger than this. I mean, don't get me wrong - *I* demand it very much so, but I suppose not everyone else does.<br><br>Think about it... when LCDs were warming up, they were replacing those huge, non high def, power sucking, totally unsexy CRTs. That was a massive change, perhaps one could even call it a revolution in display tech. <br><br>But now with OLED, although technically superior, just would not have the same "want" factor to the *average consumer* as the CRT-->LCD transition did. I think we've reached a level where the average consumer is happy with what he can afford at the store. Maybe a screen that's a bit bigger for his price range, but that's about it... at least for now, there's nothing totally awesome that you could offer an average consumer to entice him to buy a new TV if they already have a 1080p capable LCD TV. Even that - I've heard people saying they don't care about HD. So, there doesn't have to be consumer demand. There is plenty of manufacturer demand. Maybe in the next couple of years we'll see OLED ultraportables, then eventually full scale laptops, but I don't think full sized, high definition OLED TVs and monitors are gonna be a possibility until they can streamline the production process, which really sucks.<br><br>At the same time, LTVs might find there way into the market as well, but what's probably going to overtake LCD (and subsequently plasma and DLP) is LED TVs.
