Apple needs content, and they cannot rely on people making stuff to read at home like they do for apps, nor could they rely on the music industry jumping on-board in order to save their profits from piracy.<br><br>I mean, how many kids are going to torrent The Catcher in the Rye?<br><br>So the Big Publishing can pretty much write their own ticket. The only difference is that book piracy, outside of textbooks, is not as ubiquitous as music piracy was. I'm one of them. I own a huge collection of tabletop RPG books from years ago. I torrented them, and people whom I play with who don't own the books have torrented them. These are spendy books, and the publishers are missing out on profits, and I do think that's wrong. Kindle books can go to ipod, PC, probably the ipad and soon macs and blackberry too.  So is it drm? yes, does that limit my use of the book?
