A2DP has a theoretical bandwidth limit of 768kbps and a practical limit of 723kbps, which is far, far, FAR more than needed for the average consumer's compressed music collection.  They key differentiator is in the execution, as poor compression algorithms or an underpowered decoder/encoder and cause problems.
